VAT Free Shopping

Due to the increased interest of our customers in the explanation of how to purchase products on our online store with or without VAT, we decided to prepare this short Q&A.

1.) Who can buy from openfoil.com without VAT?

VAT will be automatically deducted at checkout for all the orders that are shipping outside of the EU (based on shipping address). VAT can be deducted also from all EU-based companies, with valid VAT IDs.

2.) I’m buying as an EU VAT-registered company. What is the procedure to see prices without VAT?

Please just register an account on openfoil.com and enter all your company’s info (Name, Address, Post no. and post city). Be sure also to add a valid VAT ID to the “Company ID” field. When this is arranged, please send a mail with the subject “VAT ID verification” to: support@openfoil.com

In the mail body write just your openfoil.com account e-mail address. We will verify your company’s data and VAT ID, and if everything is OK, enable your account for permanent VAT-free shopping. Process is usually finished within one hour after receiving your e-mail.

Important notice:

Due to strict regulations for all VAT-free purchases and to ensure fast delivery in future, we kindly ask your assistance with the following documents:

1. For companies and other subjects in Deutschland and Spain: an official document which proves your billing address and that you/your company is in the EU VAT system

2. All buyers in other EU countries are requested to re-check billing addresses before placing their order. In case the address on the EU commission site VIES is not the same as the billing address in your order (usually for sole proprietors) we need the official document that you are registered on a different address (or else we will change it according to data on VIES).

3. All buyers should send us an official letter, that the registered person on our webshop is authorised to make purchases on behalf of the company.

3.) I’m ordering as a citizen of a NON-EU country …. and I would like to personally pick up the parcel in your warehouse. Will it be without VAT?

Unfortunately NOT. If you are picking a parcel here it counts as the shipping address is in the EU. You must pay the full amount with VAT included. But we can give you some papers, which must be stamped at customs when exiting the EU (this confirms that goods left the EU) and after returning confirmed documents we can refund your VAT paid.

NOTE: If you are a citizen of a NON-EU country and would like to pick up the goods personally in our warehouse – please use our address as shipping address SEAHORSE d.o.o., Ulica Karla Vovka 14, 3220 Štore, Slovenia. Otherwise, VAT will not be calculated correctly and you will have to pay it extra at pickup.
